In a generous act of compassion and community support, the Supuwath Arana, Seeduwa, under the leadership of Reverend Father Darrel Coonghe, has made a significant contribution to healthcare by donating state-of-the-art ICU beds worth 15 million Sri Lankan rupees to the Rheumatology and Rehabilitation Hospital in Ragama. The donation ceremony took place on May 23, 2024, marking a significant milestone in the church’s commitment to healthcare and well-being.

Dr. Sanath Upali, the In-Charge Medical Officer of the Planning Unit, played a pivotal role in coordinating this project.

Deputy Director Dr. Chinthaka Batawala with Dr.Duminda Munidasa,( Consultant Rheumatologist and rehabilitation Specialist) and Hospital authorities welcomed the donation with heartfelt appreciation, recognizing Supuwath Arana’s role as a beacon of support during critical times. Dr. Sanath Upali’s coordination ensured the seamless implementation of this vital initiative. The new ICU beds will significantly improve patient outcomes and contribute to the hospital’s mission of providing quality rehabilitative care services.

The Rheumatology and Rehabilitation Hospital, known for its specialized care for patients with rheumatic diseases and rehabilitation needs, will now be better equipped to serve the community. Patients and their families can rest assured that their well-being remains a top priority for both the Supuwath Arana and the hospital.
